A village was tired of an old man who was gloomy, complained constantly and was always in a bad mood. The longer he lived, the viler he became and more poisonous were his words.  People did their best to avoid him because his misfortune was contagious. He created the feeling of unhappiness in others.  Villagers knew him as an unhappy man. A man asked for half a kilo of butter but the salesperson, a young man, said that only one kilo packs were available. The man insisted on buying a half kilo pack.  So the young man went to the manager's office and said: "An idiot wants to buy half a kilo of butter but we only have one kilo packs."  To his surprise, the customer was standing right behind him.  So, the young man added immediately; "And this gentleman wants to buy the other half.”  After the customer left, the manager said; "You have saved your position by being clever at the right time.
